Breaking: Yankees Lose Top Lefty Reliever To 4-Year Deal Out West
The New York Yankees got a very effective three seasons out of veteran left-handed reliever Wandy Peralta, and were considering bringing him back in free agency, but have now lost out to the San Diego Padres, who scooped him up with a 4-year contract.

The surprising deal is worth $16.M million and contains an opt-out after every season, according to Ken Rosenthal.
After compiling an ERA in the high 4.00s in the first seven years of his career, Peralta absolutely killed it in Pinstripes, putting up a 2.82 ERA in his three years in New York, and added 11 saves along the way.
The Padres are having to completely rebuild their bullpen after losing Josh Hader this winter, and have done a nice job adding several seemingly effective late-game pieces.
