MLB Rumors: New York Mets Linked To Veteran Right Handed Starter
The New York Mets had a disappointing 2023 campaign, with two veteran starters in Justin Verlander and Max Scherzer unfortunately not working out, and now, they will be looking to turn things around and be big spenders once more.
While he may not be in the same tier as some of the top starting pitching free agents, the Mets are now reportedly planning to meet with free agent Luis Severino as they look to build their rotation around the solid Kodai Senga, Tylor Megill and perhaps another free agent pickup.
In 2023 with the Yankees, Severino started 18 games, posting a 4-8 record with a 6.65 ERA over 89.1 innings of work, but flashed some of what made him a promising Yankee years ago, and if the Mets are looking to compete, he could be a solid fourth or fifth option for their rotation.Mets are planning to meet with free agent pitcher Luis Severino soon, per @WillSammon pic.twitter.com/mudPufvOuA
