Two St. Louis Cardinals Pitchers Elect Free Agency
The St. Louis Cardinals recently made an announcement regarding two of their pitchers, Andrew Suárez and Casey Lawrence, who have opted to enter free agency after being outrighted off the team's 40-man roster.
Suárez, primarily used as a long reliever, faced a challenging 2023 season with a daunting 7.16 ERA in his 13 major league appearances.
However, he displayed more promise at Triple-A Memphis, where he posted a 4.08 ERA over 64 innings. This decision opens a new chapter in Suárez's baseball journey as he looks for opportunities in the open market.

Casey Lawrence, a 35-year-old journeyman pitcher, also found himself outrighted from the Cardinals' roster after a tough season, marked by a 6.59 ERA.
Despite the struggles, Lawrence managed to limit hard contact during his outings.
Now, as he enters free agency, he faces the prospect of exploring new opportunities to continue his professional baseball career.
