Texas Rangers Get Encouraging Update On Starter Jon Gray

Jon Gray of the Texas Rangers is on a promising road to recovery from forearm tightness that led to his placement on the 15-day injured list towards the end of the regular season.

According to reports by The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal, Gray is making positive strides and is expected to rejoin the Rangers' starting rotation should they advance to the ALCS.

His return would add depth to the team's pitching staff, which already includes Jordan Montgomery, Nathan Eovaldi, Andrew Heaney, and Dane Dunning.

In addition to Jon Gray, the Rangers are also keeping an eye on Max Scherzer's potential return.

Scherzer has been dealing with a shoulder issue, but his comeback could solidify a formidable four-starter rotation alongside Montgomery and Eovaldi.

In such a scenario, Andrew Heaney and Dane Dunning are likely to play pivotal roles in bulk relief, further strengthening the team's pitching depth for the crucial playoff series.

This past season, Gray recorded a 4.12 ERA, 1.29 WHIP, with 142 strikeouts across 157.1 innings and 29 starts.

The Texas Rangers are undoubtedly looking to capitalize on the return of Gray and the potential addition of Scherzer to bolster their pitching staff and enhance their chances in the ALCS, showcasing a commitment to fortifying their rotation as they aim for postseason success.
