Report: Boston Red Sox Interview Surprising Candidate For Front Office Role
The Boston Red Sox once again missed the playoffs in 2023, even with a talented roster, and now, they've got a big winter ahead of them, with many new roles to fill, but firstly and perhaps most importantly is the President of Baseball Operations job.
Now, it has been reported that Boston have interview Gabe Kapler, the former manager of the San Francisco Giants and Philadelphia Phillies for that position, despite drawing plenty of criticism for his work as a manager in recent years.
Before that though, Kapler worked as the Dodgers Director of Player Development, and with his connections to Boston, it's an interview that makes sense, but after his recent lack of success as Manager, it's understandable why Red Sox fans would be confused and annoyed by the hire if it ultimately happens.UPDATE: Former Giants manager Gabe Kapler has interviewed for the Red Sox No. 1 front office position, according to @alexspeier. pic.twitter.com/eQKL6ADQlp
