Los Angeles Dodgers Pitcher Elects Free Agency

Wander Suero, a right-handed reliever, has chosen free agency after being removed from the Los Angeles Dodgers' roster.

He spent most of the 2023 season with the Dodgers' Triple-A affiliate in Oklahoma City, where he posted a respectable 3.26 ERA in 47 games.

While Suero demonstrated a strong ability to strike out batters, with a nearly 26% strikeout rate, his 11.2% walk rate raised concerns.

He also had a brief stint in the MLB with the Dodgers, where he struggled in eight innings of work.

Given his performance and eligibility for arbitration, it's likely that Suero will seek another minor league deal for the upcoming season.

Despite his promising performance in Triple-A, Suero's recent major league experience may affect his options in the offseason.

With over three years of MLB service, Suero has become a free agent and will likely explore opportunities for a minor-league contract as he approaches the 2024 season.
