Chicago Cubs President Reveals Plans For Top Free Agent

 

The Chicago Cubs were incredibly close to making a playoff run in 2023, and while there were plenty of reasons for their impressive second half run, no one was more important to their success than Cody Bellinger, who was arguably baseball's best player post All-Star break.

Now, the veteran outfielder will hit the free agent market, and it's likely that there will be plenty of teams interested in his services, and unsurprisingly, Cubs President Jed Hoyer recently revealed the team are looking to bring back the veteran star.

Jed Hoyer on Cody Bellinger:

In 130 games in 2023, Bellinger hit a career high .307 while adding 26 home runs and 97 RBI's, and at 28-years of age, he's got plenty of gas left in the tank, so now, the Cubs will be up against considerable competition to retain his services.
