While his performance in Triple-A showcased promise with a .779 OPS across 81 games, the team's decision leaves open the possibility for him to continue with the Astros' affiliate team if he goes unclaimed on waivers.
On the other hand, left-handed pitcher Bennett Sousa has experienced a whirlwind of transitions this year. Moving between multiple teams, his recent shift saw him claimed off waivers by the Astros from the Milwaukee Brewers.
Despite facing challenges and limited opportunities at the major league level, his potential shone through during his short tenure with the Brewers, though he allowed four earned runs on five hits in 2.2 relief innings.
Additionally, his performances in prior seasons with the Brewers and the Chicago White Sox saw him surrender 24 runs on 30 hits over 23 relief innings.

As the baseball season reaches its conclusion, Sousa's inclusion in the Astros' roster brings a potential boost to their bullpen depth.
Although initially assigned to the Triple-A affiliate, there is anticipation surrounding his possible debut in September.
The Astros are optimistic that Sousa's presence will provide valuable relief options during the critical closing stages of the season, underscoring his potential impact on the team's performance. Photo Credit: Jeff Hanisch-USA TODAY Sports
