Colorado Rockies Re-Sign Veteran Outfielder
Despite some solid moves last winter, the Colorado Rockies were once again among baseball's worst teams in 2023, and with one of the toughest divisions in the league to contend with, it appears things won't be changing anytime soon.
Still, the Rockies appear to be insisting on veteran names, as they have now officially reached a deal on a one-year extension with veteran outfielder Charlie Blackmon that will pay him $13 million for the upcoming 2024 campaign.
The 37-year old has spent the entirety of his 13-year career with the Rockies, and now, this is likely to be the final year, as he has put together a solid career, hitting .296 with 215 bombs and 749 RBI, and while he's lacked the playoff experience he would have hoped, he's one of the most respected players in baseball, and remains a solid player even at 37-years of age.Charlie Blackmon has signed a one-year, $13M extension with the Rockies, per @ByRobertMurray pic.twitter.com/cqL1cEFtOD
