Baltimore Orioles Reunite With Veteran Right Hander
The Baltimore Orioles are on the run of a lifetime right now, as they hold a slim lead in the stacked American League East division with a month in the season to go, and on Saturday, they made a smart move by bringing in a familiar face.
After struggling for the most part in 2023 with the Minnesota Twins and Miami Marlins, the Orioles have now claimed veteran right hander Jorge Lopez, who was with the team as recently as 2022 to give their rotation extra depth.
This season, Lopez has put together a 6-2 record with a 6.13 ERA over 47 innings of work, but perhaps thrusting the veteran into a playoff spot with a familiar team can snap him out of this funk, as he could be a key contributor to this team down the stretch. The Orioles have claimed Jorge López off waivers from the Marlins pic.twitter.com/iNXWVOzE4v
