Yankees Insider Drops News On Manager Aaron Boone's Future
The New York Yankees are on course for one of their worst seasons in recent memory. But is manager Aaron Boone's job on the line after this season?
According to Yankees Insider Andy Martino, Boone likely isn't going anywhere.
"Cashman will not be going to Hal Steinbrenner for approval to change managers this time around, they believe in the cohesion that they have. They believe in the program they have."@martinonyc expands on his report that Aaron Boone will likely not be fired #Yankees pic.twitter.com/AZDHEmKC45

"(GM) Brian Cashman will not be going to Hal Steinbrenner for approval to change managers this time around, they believe in the cohesion that they have. They believe in the program they have," says Martino.
"In order for him to be fired, (managing partner) Hal Steinbrenner would have to overrule Brian Cashman and his entire department.
"They're still in lockstep."
Now, whether they should believe in the program, Martino admits, is another question completely—and Yankee fans are certainly having that discussion, loudly. But he's just delivering the facts as they currently exist.
"They are not in the mood to fire Aaron Boone... but the X-Factor here is that Hal could say 'we need to throw the fans some kind of sacrificial lamb.'"
At 63-68, the Yankees are in danger of having a losing record for the first time since 1992. Yes, that's over 30 years ago.
