Tampa Bay Rays Claim Cole Sulser Off Waivers From Diamondbacks

The Tampa Bay Rays recently claimed right-hander Cole Sulser off waivers from the Arizona Diamondbacks, hoping to bolster their bullpen depth.

Sulser returns to the Rays, where he made an impressive major league debut in 2019.

The Rays have claimed RP Cole Sulser off waivers from ARI. He was actually acquired by TB in the Yandy Diaz trade back in 2018

Despite struggling with injuries in recent seasons, the team sees potential in his past success and views him as an optionable relief arm.

If he regains full health, Sulser could prove valuable in covering middle innings for the team alongside other relievers down the stretch.

His previous promising performance with the Baltimore Orioles during the 2021 season, where he recorded a 2.70 ERA, 1.12 WHIP, and eight saves, further adds to the Rays' optimism.
