Diamondbacks DFA Pitcher Just Days After Claiming Him Off Waivers
In a series of roster moves, the Arizona Diamondbacks have undergone significant changes.
One of the notable changes involved designating right-handed pitcher Nabil Crismatt for assignment.
This decision came shortly after Crismatt's brief appearance with the team, where he pitched two scoreless innings.
However, his overall performance, reflecting an 8.31 ERA over 13 innings throughout the 2023 season while playing for both the Diamondbacks and the San Diego Padres, led to his release.
Taking Crismatt's spot on both the 40-man and 26-man rosters is right-handed pitcher Ryan Thompson.

Thompson's arrival from Triple-A Reno was facilitated by a corresponding move to select his contract. Thompson had initially joined the Diamondbacks on a minor league contract after being released by the Tampa Bay Rays.
Despite facing challenges this season, his previous track record remains promising, highlighted by a commendable 3.17 ERA over 76 2/3 innings during the 2021-2022 seasons.
Thompson's contract with the Diamondbacks extends through 2026, indicating the team's belief in his potential to contribute positively to their bullpen.
As the dust settles on these roster changes, Crismatt's future hinges on whether he clears waivers and chooses free agency, while Thompson steps into his role with the Diamondbacks with the opportunity to make his mark. Photo Credit: Orlando Ramirez-USA TODAY Sports
