Cincinnati Reds Land Power Hitting Veteran
The Cincinnati Reds have put together an incredible start to the 2023 season behind their incredible group of rookies, but now as the playoffs approach, they need to finish strong over the next six weeks, so their latest move could be a masterstroke.
After being released by the division rival Chicago Cubs, the Reds have now landed veteran power bat Trey Mancini, who has been one of the most consistent power bats in all of baseball over the past few seasons.
Between 2021-22, the 31-year old launched 39 home runs, and while he was having a down season with Chicago, hitting just four home runs in 263 at bats, but if he can find his form in a hitter friendly park in Cincinnati, this could be the boost that their lineup may need. The Reds signed OF/1B Trey Mancini to a minor league contract.
