Shohei Ohtani Reveals What He Knows About Possible Trade

The game's greatest player, and most dynamic attraction, Shohei Ohtani is the talk of baseball these days for another reason: Will the Los Angeles Angels trade him before the August 1st deadline? 

So what does Ohtani know about that? Absolutely nothing, according to the man himself.

I've never really had any talks like that. I see (GM) Perry (Minasian) maybe once a week in the clubhouse, and we've never really had any conversations.  

I've never really had a sit-down talk (with the Angels about whether he'd be interested to re-sign). We're in midseason, obviously, and I'm just trying to focus on the season and sort of block everything else out... I feel like we're in a decent spot to make a playoff run, and that's all I'm really focused on at the moment.

But is the trade buzz all over the industry bothering him? On the mound, his pitching numbers have taken a dip in recent weeks, as he has a 4.65 ERA and a 1.33 WHIP over his last seven starts, far below his numbers earlier in the season. Though his recent struggles can be attributed to a cracked fingernail and a blister. 

At the plate, he certainly doesn't seem to be affected, with an astounding 15 home runs in the last 30 games with an equally ridiculous 1.359 OPS over that time. He remains on pace to push 60 HR for the season. 

Insiders have revealed the timeline that the Angels are looking at to make a decision on whether to trade the game's greatest player. The entire sport is holding its collective breath.
