Seattle Mariners Star Suffers Foot Injury
The Seattle Mariners took a massive step forward in 2022, making a statement that many believed they would be around as a contender for several years, and after a slow start to the 2023 season, the second half of the season could be key to their chances at making it back to the post-season once again, as they currently sit 5.5 games out of a Wild Card spot.
Unfortunately, they've now been dealt a horrendous injury blow, as young outfielder Jarred Kelenic will now be missing time as he reportedly broke his foot while kicking a water cooler in frustration, being placed on the 10-day IL for now.
The 24-year old was off to another solid start in 2023, hitting a career high .252 with 11 home runs and 45 RBI through 90 games, but will now face an extended period on the sideline after the incident, a crucial blow to a team that's finally looking to build momentum.Jared Kelenic broke his foot after kicking a water cooler last night, per @RyanDivish pic.twitter.com/NClDRObYmZ
