San Francisco Giants Veteran Placed On Injured List

 

The San Francisco Giants have been red-hot as of late, pulling themselves to within 1.5 games of the Dodgers in the National League West, and while much of the plaudits has gone to the young, rising stars on this team, the veterans have stepped up in recent weeks in a big way.

After a slow start to the 2023 season, star shortstop Brandon Crawford's game has been rejuvenated in recent months, but on Wednesday, it was confirmed that he will hit the 10-day Injured List with left knee inflammation.

• IF Brandon Crawford placed on the 10-day Injured List (retroactive to July 17) with left knee inflammation

• IF David Villar recalled from Triple-A Sacramento

• OF Bryce Johnson (27th man) returned to Triple-A Sacramento

In 64 games this season, arguably the best shortstop in Giants history is hitting just .207 with 5 home runs and 26 RBI, but has played stellar defence as usual and has worked as a fantastic mentor to the young Giants coming through, so they will be hoping this is just a minor injury.
