Report: Chicago Cubs To Keep Star Slugger At Trade Deadline
For the past few weeks now, all some fans have seemingly heard about is Cody Bellinger of the Chicago Cubs and where he will end up at the trade deadline, but all of a sudden, the surging Cubs find themselves just three games out of the final wild card spot in the National League.
Unsurprisingly then, it has now been reported that the team are not going to trade their biggest star at the deadline, and while no report has been made about Marcus Stroman, it's a good bet that this team could either stay put or even become buyers over the next two days.
Since the All-Star break, Bellinger has been the hottest hitter in the National League, taking his season stats to .315 with 15 home runs and 46 RBI, and while he would have netted them several top assets, it makes sense for them to hang on for a playoff push, so keep an eye on the Cubs going forward. The Cubs will NOT be trading Cody Bellinger, per @JesseRogersESPN pic.twitter.com/LQzZZ8xabU
