MLB Rumors: National League West Contender Linked To Veteran Star
The San Francisco Giants have been one of the surprises of the 2023 MLB season, as they find themselves right in the mix for both a Wild Card spot at the top of the National League West, and heading into the trade deadline, they've got one massive need.
With the rotation sorely lacking behind Logan Webb and Alex Cobb, the team need to add starting pitching, and now, Jon Morosi has linked them to New York Mets star Justin Verlander, who has been part of the disappointing run for the 2023 Mets.
He's not looked like the same pitcher we've seen for Detroit or Houston, with a 4-5 record and a 3.47 ERA on the year, but we've seen what he can do in the post-season, and if the 40-year old can land on a contender, he has a good chance to help them go on a deep run.The Giants are ‘among the teams’ evaluating Justin Verlander’s situation, per @jonmorosi pic.twitter.com/oqVv4A2BWR
