Miami Marlins & New York Mets Complete Trade

The Miami Marlins have added to their bullpen, as they have acquired David Robertson from the New York Mets in exchange for prospects Marco Vargas and Ronald Hernandez.

The Mets were expected to be among the league's top teams after a strong offseason, but they have been far from that. At the time of this writing, they sport a 48-54 record, thus making rentals like Robertson expendable. Now, Robertson is joining the Marlins as they look to cement themselves a playoff spot.

Robertson has been quite reliable this season, as he sports a 4-2 record to go along with a 2.05 ERA and 14 saves. Overall, it has been another strong campaign for the veteran reliever, and he will be looking to continue it as a Marlin from here.

The Marlins needed to improve their bullpen before the deadline passed, and they have done so with this Robertson addition. This looks like a good deal for them on paper, but we will need to see how well he performs for them.
