Top 3 Free Agents 2023-24 — NL West

Time for an early look at the top free agents that will be available after this season. It's possible that some may signed to extensions with their current teams before then, but as of now, these are the top names that teams are starting to plan for.

We've looked at the NL Central, now the  National League West Division.

Julio Urias, Los Angeles Dodgers

The second-best pitcher that will be up for grabs, Urias is actually having his first pedestrian year in his eight-season big league career. With a 49-17 mark and a career ERA below 2.80 coming into the season, Urias has gone 5-4 with a 4.39 ERA in 10 starts, while giving up a league-leading 14 home runs.

He's still showing impeccable control, with a 53:11 K/BB ratio in 55 innings, and his body of work will still allow for him to get a huge deal on the open market... If the Dodgers let him get there.

Clayton Kershaw, Los Angeles Dodgers

Yes, he'll be a free agent again after considering retirement last offseason and then signing a one-year, $20M deal to return. It's unlikely he'd go anywhere else, but there were rumblings last winter that his hometown Texas Rangers could try to sway him to leave LA. He's having another rock-solid season with a 3.32 ERA and a 75:16 K/BB ratio, for 10.8 Ks per nine innings.

Josh Hader, San Diego Padres

The Padres hand out massive long-term extensions like nobody's business, so it's quite possible that the closer-extraordinaire doesn't make it to free agency at the end of the year.

But if he does, teams will come calling with some large offers. He's back to being his dominant self this season, with 13 saves and a 1.61 ERA.
