St. Louis Cardinals Place Promising Young Outfielder On Injured List
On Thursday, it was reported that the St. Louis Cardinals have officially recalled top prospect (and the No. 1 prospect in all of baseball) Jordan Walker, and on Friday, it was revealed that one of their promising young outfielders would head to the Injured List, giving up his roster spot.
That outfielder would be Lars Nootbaar, who became a cult star during the 2023 World Baseball Classic, and has followed it up with an impressive start to the 2023 MLB season, with this being his second stint on the IL this season, now dealing with back issues.
In 42 games this year, Nootbaar has a solid .266 average with 4 home runs and 21 RBI's, and while he's not the teams most promising young outfielder, he plays a solid role for this team, and will be looking to get healthy as the team begins their climb out of the basement of the National League Central in 2023.MLB INJURY ALERT: Cardinals OF Lars Nootbar (back) has been placed on the 10-day injured list. pic.twitter.com/tpCAJZaE5b
