Report: San Francisco Giants Option Young Catcher
The San Francisco Giants have been building into a solid season as of late, and most of that success can be attributed to the spark that this team has been given by standout young players Patrick Bailey and Casey Schmitt, who are off to fantastic starts to their MLB career.
Now, the future is murky for former top prospect Joey Bart, who has yet to put together a successful stint at the major league level, and after his latest rehab assignment, the team have officially optioned him back to Triple-A Sacramento.
Bart was once seen as the successor to Buster Posey in San Francisco, but in his time with the Giants, he is hitting just .223 with 11 home runs and 37 RBI in 158 games played, and while it's not the end of his time with San Francisco, things need to turn around soon.Joey Bart’s rehab assignment is over, he was optioned back to Triple-A Sacramento.
