MLB Rumors: New York Mets Star Targeting Late Season Return
The New York Mets spending over the past few off-seasons has led them to becoming a genuine World Series favourite in the National League this season, but before the 2023 campaign could even get under way, they suffered a massive loss, with star closer Edwin Diaz going down with a knee injury during the World Baseball Classic.
Diaz underwent knee surgery the following day to repair the torn patella in his right knee, from which he was given an 8-month recovery time, but now, he has revealed that he isn't ruling out a return in 2023, with plenty of optimism that he could be cleared after just six months.
Diaz became a viral star in 2022 after his incredible performances, blended with his show stopping entrance, but if the Mets are to make a World Series run, having one of the best closers in all of baseball would no doubt help them even more.Mets closer Edwin Diaz is not ruling out a 2023 return. 👀🎺 https://t.co/4khcWkPLHr pic.twitter.com/GttuafwWPg
