Houston Astros Rumors: Tigers Ace On Team’s Radar
Eduardo Rodriguez is currently one of the most popular trade candidates heading into the 2023 MLB Trade Deadline. With the Tigers sporting a 32-42 record, they are expected to be major sellers. Several teams have been linked to the lefty, and the Houston Astros are the latest team to join the sweepstakes.
The Astros are looking to boost the rotation, and acquiring Rodriguez would do just that. It is a real necessity for them to improve their pitching, as they are currently trying to catch the Texas Rangers in the American League West standings. Thus, it makes sense that they are being aggressive in the trade market, and Rodriguez seems like a good fit on paper.
Rodriguez has been excellent this season, and his trade value has increased because of it. In 11 starts, he sports a 4-4 record and a 2.13 ERA. Adding that kind of stability would be great for the Astros, so we will need to wait and see if they improve their efforts to bring him.
Alas, time will tell where Rodriguez ends up from here, but don’t be surprised in the slightest to see the Astros emerge as major players in the sweepstakes.
