Veteran World Series Winner Officially Announces Retirement
This generation of baseball has been one full of amazing players, with pitchers like Justin Verlander, Clayton Kershaw, Max Scherzer, and Tim Lincecum taking a lot of the spotlight, but over that time, we've seen countless amazing performances on the mound.
One of the most underrated players in that time, Anibal Sanchez, has now officially announced his retirement from the game of baseball following a fantastic 16-year career that culminated in a World Series ring with the Washington Nationals back in 2019.
While the overall numbers on his career don't scream elite (116-119 with a 4.06 ERA), Sanchez had stretches where he was one of the best pitchers in baseball, winning the ERA title in the AL in 2013, and was a crucial part of the Nationals World Series run, so he will retire with a very accomplished resume.Anibal Sanchez retires.
