St. Louis Cardinals Star Surprisingly Moving Positions
A year ago, the St. Louis Cardinals bid farewell to an MLB legend in Yadier Molina, and they managed to land a big fish to replace him with former Chicago Cubs catcher Willson Contreras, but after seven years in the position, he's now making a shock move.
The Cardinals have now officially announced that Contreras will now play the DH position as his primary role, and will instead just mix in both outfield and catching duties, this coming after three All-Star seasons at catcher.
For the first time since Molina left, this team is now facing genuine struggles, despite a lineup that features Edman, Contreras, Arenado and Goldschmidt, and if they want to turn it around, taking the pressure of Contreras at the catcher spot may be the way to do it.Well, that sure didn’t take long for the #STLCards to sorely miss Yadier Molina.
