Royals, Phillies Swing trade; KC Then DFA's 6-Year Veteran
The Kansas City Royals have swung a trade with the Philadelphia Phillies to acquire some pitching depth. KC obtained 26-year-old right-hander James McArthur in exchange for a minor league outfielder.
The #Royals acquired RHP James McArthur from the Phillies for minor league OF Junior Marin and cash. OF/DH Franmil Reyes was designated for assignment to make room on KC's roster.

McArthur, 26, was DFA'd by Philly last week. He'll head to Omaha.
The 26-year-old McArthur has had a rough go of it in Triple-A this season in the Phillies system, making five appearances (four starts). He's allowed 13 runs in 16 innings for a 7.31 ERA. That was enough for the Phils to designate him for assignment last week.
McArthur is 6-foot-7 and has a career 4.36 ERA in the minors in 73 appearances (51 starts).
Junior Marin is sent to the Phillies; he's a 19-year-old OF from Venezuela, still playing in Rookie Ball.
In order to make room on the roster, the Royals have DFA'd six-year major league veteran Franmil Reyes. He had gotten into 19 games for KC, but was hitting just .186 with a .519 OPS. He'll head into free agency and try to latch on with his 5th major league club.
