Report: Minnesota Twins Extend Young Manager
The Minnesota Twins have been off to a solid start in 2023, finding themselves in first place in the American League Central as the season reaches late May, and now, it has been revealed that they rewarded one of their own.
On Monday, Ken Rosenthal announced that the Twins quietly exercised the options for Manager Rocco Baldelli, keeping the 41-year old in Minnesota until at least the 2025 season, a show of faith for the first-time manager.
Baldelli spent seven years in the major leagues with Tampa Bay and Boston, before spending four seasons coaching with the Rays, and has served as the manager of the Twins since 2019, where the team have a 311-276 record, and while they haven't had the playoff success they would like, it appears they love the stability and leadership that he brings to the table.EXTENDED: Per @TheAthletic's Ken Rosenthal, the #MNTwins exercised Rocco Baldelli's option through 2025. ✍️💰 pic.twitter.com/fshfEIrlJi
