Pittsburgh Pirates DFA Versatile Role Player
The Pittsburgh Pirates have been one of baseball's most pleasant surprises in 2023, with a 23-20 record through their first 43 games, and while we've seen some big time performances, other players have no doubt disappointed.
One of those players is former top prospect with the New York Yankees, Miguel Andujar, and after working his way back to the big leagues through Pittsburgh's Triple-A squad, he once again struggled to produce anything at the MLB level.
In 13 games this year, Andujar was hitting just .161 with 2 Home Runs and 6 RBI's, and while he's shown that he could still potentially contribute at the MLB level, but clearly it just wasn't meant to be with the Pirates. We have activated LHP Rob Zastryzny from the 15-day Injured List.

To make room on the 40-man roster, OF Miguel Andujar was designated for assignment.
