Oakland Athletics Rumors: 3 Teams Interested In Talented Reliever

There is increasing interest from multiple teams in acquiring Oakland Athletics' relief pitcher Zach Jackson.

Over his two-year career, the 28-year-old has compiled a strong 2.89 ERA, 1.35 WHIP, and averaging 12.3 K/9 across 65.1 innings and 72 appearances.

Here are three teams eyeing trades for Oakland's Zach Jackson:

New York Mets

While the Mets currently have an okay bullpen with a 3.71 ERA (11th best in MLB), the absence of Edwin Diaz has highlighted the need for additional depth in their middle innings. Jackson would provide the Mets with an extra arm and bolster their bullpen, addressing a critical need for the struggling team.

Boston Red Sox

The Red Sox have a strong offense but are lacking in pitching depth. Currently ranked 20th in the league with a 3.98 bullpen ERA, their relief pitching has been inconsistent. Acquiring Jackson would fill the void for a reliable middle innings or setup man, strengthening the Red Sox's pitching staff.

Miami Marlins

The Miami Marlins, although maybe not immediate contenders this season, are a young team showing improvement year by year. Adding Jackson to their bullpen would be beneficial, especially considering his pre-arbitration status. With the Marlins in need of more talented arms in their relief corps, acquiring Jackson would provide them with a promising building block for the future.
