New York Mets Veteran Starter To Begin Throwing Program In Order To Return
The New York Mets went wild with their spending the past two off-season's, adding the likes of Justin Verlander, Max Scherzer and Kodai Senga, but one move that went very much under the radar was the pickup of veteran lefty Jose Quintana.
Unfortunately for the Mets, who have one of the least productive starting rotations in baseball thus far in 2023, Quintana hasn't pitched yet this season due to a rib injury that required surgery during spring training, but now, it appears he's well on the way to a return.
On Friday, Quintana confirmed that he will throw off a mound for the first time since Spring Training on Saturday, and if all goes well, he can ramp up the rehab process in the coming weeks, and while we aren't likely to see him in the majors anytime soon, he will be a valuable asset for New York when he does get healthy.José Quintana will throw off a mound tomorrow for the first time since spring training
