MLB Rumors: Los Angeles Angels Interested In Power Hitting Catcher
The Los Angeles Angels are off to a solid start in 2023, as they appear to have not only figured out a solid lineup, but the pitching rotation as well, but after a 17-14 start to the year, the team are now dealing with injury issues that they'll need to address.
Their promising young catcher Logan O'Hoppe has been fantastic to start the year, but has unfortunately gone down with an injury, and now it appears they are a team very interested in former Yankees and Twins power hitting catcher Gary Sanchez.
There's a lot of familiarity with the Angels coaching staff, but in 2023, Sanchez struggled mightily playing in the minor leagues for San Francisco, but if he can find his old stroke, he could be a good depth addition for this Angels squad.Angels are among teams with interest in Gary Sanchez. Their promising catcher Logan O’Hoppe, off to a big start, is out with a shoulder injury. Manager Phil Nevin and hitting coach Marcus Thames know Sanchez well from his Yankees days.
