Chicago Cubs Left-Handed Pitcher Elects Free Agency
Chicago Cubs pitcher Ryan Borucki has decided to explore free agency rather than accepting an outright assignment to Triple-A Iowa.
The news indicates Borucki's desire to seek opportunities with other teams that can provide him with a better chance of returning to the major leagues.

The Jays could use some LHP depth. Reunion?
Borucki's performance at Triple-A Iowa this season has been disappointing, with a 12.00 ERA, a 2.11 WHIP, and an 11/6 K/BB ratio.
These struggles likely contributed to his decision to test the open market and seek a fresh start with a different organization.

Borucki dealt with forearm troubles in 2022 and finished his season with an ugly 5.68 ERA and 21 strikeouts over 25.1 innings of work between the Toronto Blue Jays and the Mariners.
However, the 28-year-old has had success in the past and will look to find that again on a prove-it deal with another team.
