Arizona Diamondbacks Rumors: First Baseman Becoming Trade Candidate

The Arizona Diamondbacks are having a solid start to the 2023 MLB season, but there are rumblings that they are still open to making trades. One player who is starting to get a lot of attention in the rumor mill because of this is Christian Walker.

After recording a 36-home run campaign in 2022, Walker has continued to stay hot this year, as he has nine home runs, 28 RBIs, and a .282 batting average in 34 games. As a result of his excellent play, his trade value is continuing to increase, and the Diamondbacks are ready to listen to offers for him because of it.

Walker will be eligible for unrestricted free agency in 2025, so the Diamondbacks could look to move him while his value is at its highest. They also likely do not want to run the risk of losing him for nothing in free agency, either.

Nevertheless, we will need to wait and see if the Diamondbacks end up moving Walker before the deadline passes from here.
