Tampa Bay Rays Rumors: 3 Early-Season Trade Candidates
Welcome to Baseball Rumors' Early-Season Trade Candidates series. During it, we will be looking at three players who are already emerging as trade candidates during the beginning portion of the campaign.
In this latest episode, we will be focusing on the Tampa Bay Rays.
Randy Arozarena: The Rays have become famous for trading away their top players while their trade value is at its highest. As a result, there have been some rumblings that they could listen to offers for star outfielder Randy Arozarena. However, it would take a major offer for the Rays to go through with such a move.
Tyler Glasnow: Tyler Glasnow is another notable name who is emerging as a possible trade candidate. Although the Rays signed him to a two-year extension, he will be eligible for unrestricted free agency after next season, and the Rays are unlikely to have the money to keep him around after it. Thus, if they get a big offer for him this season, don't be surprised if they move him.
Brandon Lowe: After a rough 2022 season, Brandon Lowe was a trade candidate for the Rays this offseason. Although a move did not occur, don't be surprised if they shop him again if he continues to struggle in 2023. There could be a market for him, as he is a one-time All-Star and hit 39 home runs in 2021.
