St. Louis Cardinals Rumors: 3 Early-Season Trade Candidates
Welcome to Baseball Rumors' Early-Season Trade Candidates series. During it, we will be looking at three players who are already emerging as trade candidates during the beginning portion of the campaign.
In this latest episode, we will be focusing on the St. Louis Cardinals.
Lars Nootbaar: Lars Nootbaar picked up a lot of steam in the rumor mill this offseason, so he is a player who we should pay attention to as we get closer to the deadline. The Cardinals have a surplus of outfielders, and Nootbaar could be the kind of player that helps land them a player who will improve their roster elsewhere.
Nolan Gorman: Another Cardinal who the Cardinals were listening to offers for during the offseason is Nolan Gorman. The 22-year-old infielder has a bright future, but the Cardinals also have strong depth in the middle of the infield, so they could move him if it helps them acquire a high-impact player who will make an immediate impact.
Paul DeJong: After a disastrous 2022 season, the Cardinals have made it known that they want to move on from Paul DeJong. There could be some interest in his services, as he is a former All-Star who can be an effective power hitter while performing at his highest level.
