Seattle Mariners Rumors: 3 Early-Season Trade Candidates
Welcome to Baseball Rumors' Early-Season Trade Candidates series. During it, we will be looking at three players who are already emerging as trade candidates during the beginning portion of the campaign.
In this latest installment, we will be focusing on the Seattle Mariners.
Jarred Kelenic: Jarred Kelenic was in the rumor mill all offseason, but a move centering around him was not finalized. Yet, when noting that the Mariners' outfield depth is strong and he's had trouble cementing himself as a major-league player, he certainly could be moved. This is especially true if he helps land them a player who would help them immediately.
Chris Flexen: The Mariners' pitching depth is very deep, and it has made Chris Flexen expendable. The Mariners have been looking to find Flexen a new home, and teams like the St. Louis Cardinals, Baltimore Orioles, and Boston Red Sox have been linked to him. Thus, we could see him on the move very shortly.
Kolten Wong: The Mariners currently have a 1-3 record. If they continue to struggle as the year rolls on, they will likely be sellers at the deadline. With Kolten Wong being a pending UFA, he surely could be on the move in this scenario. Several teams would love to acquire the two-time Gold Glove winner for the playoffs.
