Pittsburgh Pirates Give Emotional Call-Up To Long Time Minor Leaguer

The Pittsburgh Pirates have been one of MLB's most surprising teams thus far in 2023, and after a hot start that gives them a built in feel good story, they've added to that with one of the most heart-warming moments of the season thus far.

On Friday, Drew Maggi, 33-year old infielder finally got the chance to join another big league club, as he was called up by the Pittsburgh Pirates following an incredible 1,155 games in the minor leagues, and it's safe to say that his reaction was everything we expected.

Whether he takes this opportunity and becomes a full time big leaguer or not, this was a heart warming moment that pays off years and years of hard work, and is one of the things that makes professional sports so great.
