Oakland Athletics Rumors: 3 Early-Season Trade Candidates
Welcome to Baseball Rumors' Early-Season Trade Candidates series. During it, we will be looking at three players who are already emerging as trade candidates during the beginning portion of the campaign.
In this latest episode of the series, we will be discussing the rebuilding Oakland Athletics.
Paul Blackburn: Paul Blackburn is coming off of his first All-Star campaign. As a result, his trade value is at its highest, and the A's could look to take advantage of this. After all, they are in a full-on rebuild, and Blackburn could land them some notable prospects in a hypothetical swap.
Seth Brown: Seth Brown had a breakout season with the A's last season and showed that he can be an effective power hitter in the process. However, with the A's rebuilding, he's another player who they could look to move while his trade value is higher. Teams looking for a first baseman and DH should be calling Oakland about him.
Tony Kemp: Veteran infielder Tony Kemp was getting plenty of attention in the rumor mill leading up to the regular season, but a move did not come to fruition. However, with teams needing help in their middle infields, things could change on that front shortly. As a result, he is a player to watch from here.
