The 23-year-old third baseman has a plethora of potential, but the Mets also have World Series expectations, so they could be willing to move him if it results in them landing a major star.

Carlos Carrasco: The New York Mets' starting rotation is immensely strong, and Carlos Carrasco has emerged as a trade candidate because of it. With the Mets having a massive surplus of starters, they could move Carrasco elsewhere if it helps them improve their roster elsewhere.

David Peterson: Another starter who stands out as a trade candidate is David Peterson. The 27-year-old was in the rumor mill all offseason, but a move did not occur. However, with teams around the league looking to improve their rotation, they could take a chance on the 6-foot-6 lefty. In 28 appearances last year, he sported a 7-5 record and a 3.83 ERA.
