MLB Rumors: Salt Lake City Joins Push For MLB Expansion Team
Over the past few years, we've seen the NHL expand with both the Vegas Golden Knights and Seattle Kraken, and while nothing has become official in the other three leagues, there has been rumours of expansion in all of them over that time.
Talks about expansion have surrounded the MLB for a number of years now, with places such as Carolina, Vancouver and Las Vegas all coming up in talks, but recently, a consortium led by the owner of th eUtah Jazz has been pushing for the next expansion to head to Salt Lake City.
The Jazz have had plenty of success with a powerful fan base, and the Salt Lake Bees, the Triple-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angles, so this push for an MLB team makes sense, and if the league does look for expansion, Salt Lake City is as good an option as any.BREAKING: A Salt Lake City consortium led by the former owner of the Utah Jazz plans to pursue a Major League Baseball expansion franchise in the coming years, people involved with the project tell ESPN.
