Los Angeles Angels Rumors: 3 Early-Season Trade Candidates
Welcome to Baseball Rumors' Early-Season Trade Candidates series. During it, we will be looking at three players who are already emerging as trade candidates during the beginning portion of the campaign.
In this latest installment, we will be looking at the Los Angeles Angels.
Shohei Ohtani: Shohei Ohtani is of course the biggest trade target on the Angels right now. Although they have started the year with a 2-1 record, the generational talent could be made available at the deadline if the Halos fall off this season and if an extension is not finalized. Therefore, he is a player to watch extremely closely in the rumor mill.
Jo Adell: Jo Adell was in the rumor mill all offseason, and things are only heating up on that front due to his placement on their depth chart falling. With the Angels having a crowded outfield, they could use a promising young player like Adell to help improve their roster elsewhere. With that, he simply needs a change of scenery at this point.
Aaron Loup: Aaron Loup is a reliever who could be on the move as we inch closer to the deadline. This is especially so if the Angels are not looking like a playoff team as the year rolls on. The veteran reliever has a club option in 2024, but if the Angels do not want to honor it, look for him to be moved at some point this campaign.
