Injury Updates On Two Key St. Louis Cardinals Players
The St. Louis Cardinals are closely monitoring the injury and recovery progress of two of their players, Adam Wainwright and Lars Nootbaar.
Wainwright has been sidelined with a groin injury and is progressing well in his recovery. He completed a successful bullpen session on Monday and is set to have another on Thursday.
The team is taking a cautious approach and prioritizing his full recovery over a speedy return. As a result, they do not have much incentive to rush him back ahead of schedule.

Wainwright is anticipated to rejoin the team's starting rotation in early May.
Meanwhile, Nootbaar injured his left thumb during the Cardinals' season opener and has been on the 10-day injured list since last Friday. However, according to recent reports, he may not need a minor league rehab assignment before being activated.
This is highly encouraging for the 25-year-old outfielder's recovery, and he could potentially return to the game on April 10, which is the first day he is eligible.

In summary, the Cardinals are keeping a close eye on the progress of both Wainwright and Nootbaar's injuries. Wainwright's cautious recovery process should lead to a return in early May, while Nootbaar's recovery progress could mean a quicker return to the active roster than previously anticipated.
