Injury Update On Detroit Tigers Offseason Rotation Addition
After completing a live batting practice session and pitchers' fielding practice on Monday without any issues, Lorenzen has been given the green light to begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Toledo on Saturday to recover from a left groin strain he suffered in March, according to reports by The Detroit News.
He is expected to need a few rehab starts before returning to the Tigers' rotation. The quick resumption of throwing and good progress in his recovery has enabled him to make a swift return to action.

Lorenzen signed a one-year, $8.5 million contract with the Tigers in December after he compiled a 4.24 ERA, 1.28 WHIP, with 85 strikeouts across 97.2 innings and 18 starts last season with the Los Angeles Angels.
He's a former first-round pick by the Cincinnati Reds in the 2013 MLB Draft.
