Detroit Tigers Rumors: 3 Early-Season Trade Candidates
Welcome to Baseball Rumors' Early-Season Trade Candidates series. During it, we will be looking at three players who are already emerging as trade candidates during the beginning portion of the campaign.
In this latest episode, we will be focusing on the Detroit Tigers.
Austin Meadows: Austin Meadows was in the rumor mill during the offseason, and the Tigers could be willing to move him during the regular season because of it. This is especially true if he struggles this season yet again. However, he is also one of the Tigers' most valuable trading assets, so moving him would land them a solid return of prospects.
Jonathan Schoop: Jonathan Schoop is a veteran infielder who just does not fit into the Tigers' current rebuild. With that, he struggled immensely last season, so there is no question that they would love to move his contract. Teams in need of some middle infield help could consider taking a chance on him, as he has had a solid career.
Matthew Boyd: The Tigers brought Matthew Boyd back on a one-year, $10 million deal. If he can put together a strong season for them, he will end up being a quality rental candidate for them if the Tigers are near the bottom of the standings once we inch closer to the deadline.
