Cincinnati Reds Rumors: 3 Early-Season Trade Candidates
Welcome to Baseball Rumors' Early-Season Trade Candidates series. During it, we will be looking at three players who are already emerging as trade candidates during the beginning portion of the campaign.
In this latest piece, we will be looking at the Cincinnati Reds.
Joey Votto: There have been some rumblings over the possibility of the Reds trading Joey Votto to the Toronto Blue Jays before the deadline passes. This would be great to see, as it would allow him to finish his career for his hometown team. With that, he would also finally play meaningful baseball again, as the Blue Jays are expected to be among the league's top teams this season.
Alexis Diaz: After his outstanding rookie season, Alexis Diaz finds himself in the rumor mill. The Reds are not going expected to be competitive for quite some time, so they don't necessarily need a high-impact closer. Thus, they could look to take advantage of his high trade value and land several assets that would help them in the future.
Wil Myers: Wil Myers could be on the move at the deadline, as he is on a one-year deal. Teams looking for some outfield depth will likely make a push for him, as he is a solid player while performing at his best.
