Chicago White Sox Sign Free Agent Starting Pitcher
The Chicago White Sox are adding to their pitching depth.
The White Sox have signed free agent pitcher Daniel Ponce de Leon to a minor-league contract as reported by Jon Heyman of the New York Post.

Ponce de Leon, a 31-year-old right-hander, had a rough season in 2021, posting a 6.52 ERA in 116 innings over 26 starts for the Triple-A affiliates of the Seattle Mariners, Washington Nationals, and Detroit Tigers.
He last appeared in a major-league game in 2021 while playing for the St. Louis Cardinals. The White Sox have assigned him to their Triple-A affiliate, the Charlotte Knights.

Over his four-year career, all spent with the Cardinals, Ponce De Leon has compiled a 4.33 ERA, 1.33 WHIP, with 152 strikeouts across 147.2 innings and 57 appearances.
