Baltimore Orioles Top Prospect Gets Well Earned Promotion
The Baltimore Orioles have been seen as a team to watch in the future for the past few years now, and in 2023, they've shown that they are ready to compete right now, but that doesn't mean they still don't have some future stars coming through the minor league system.
With their top prospect Grayson Rodriguez moving to the major league level this year, their biggest future star in the system is now former No. 1 overall pick Jackson Holliday, and while he's still a long way from the big leagues, he has now officially been promoted to High-A ball.
In Low-A ball, Holliday has been mashing with a .392/.523/.667 line, along with nine extra base hits and just one error in 13 games, and while his ETA on the big leagues is still 2025, this is a promising sign for one of MLB's biggest future stars. The Orioles are promoting Jackson Holliday, the No. 1 pick in the 2022 draft, to High-A after he destroyed Low-A in 13 games: .392/.523/.667 with nine extra-base hits in 51 at-bats and a 14-to-12 walk-to-strikeout ratio. Only one error in 117 innings at 2B and SS. Absolute star.
