Texas Rangers Release Veteran Pitcher
The Texas Rangers have released right-handed pitcher Dominic Leone, just a month after signing him to a minor league contract.
Leone was released by the San Francisco Giants last September due to an elbow impingement, but managed to finish the 2022 season with a 4.01 ERA, 1.60 WHIP, and 52 strikeouts in 55 relief appearances.

Despite his decent career numbers, the Rangers have given Leone the opportunity to explore other options, with the possibility of a return on a new deal.
Leone is a veteran of ten major league seasons, having played for the Seattle Mariners, Arizona Diamondbacks, Toronto Blue Jays, St. Louis Cardinals, Cleveland Guardians and the Giants.
Over his career, he holds a decent 3.69 ERA, 1.37 WHIP, and 373 strikeouts across 356 innings.
While Leone was not expected to make the Rangers' Opening Day roster, his release provides an opportunity for him to potentially land a spot on another team's roster. Photo Credit: Matt Kartozian-USA TODAY Sports
